Kemerton Expansion

Albemarle Corporation commenced construction at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area in Western Australia to develop the Kemerton lithium hydroxide processing plant (“Kemerton”). Construction is now complete and Kemerton will process spodumene ore to produce lithium hydroxide product and a sodium sulphate by-product. Kemerton is expected to have an initial capacity of about 50,000 metric tons LCE of lithium hydroxide.

ERO Copper Brazil

ERO Copper is busy developing a new vertical shaft at their Caraiba Mining Operations in Brazil. V&M provided pre-contract services to 3 (three) of the selected procurement packages including bulk civils and earthworks, headframe structural steel and ancillary structural steel package. Once completed, it is estimated that this will be one of the deepest copper mine shafts in the world.

Project Raptor

Project Raptor consists of 2 new rail balloon loops which is currently being constructed for South 32 on their Wessels and Mamatwan operations respectively. The project consists of 4 main packages including, bulk earthworks, rail installation, electrical and communications and overhead track equipment (OHTE). V&M is part of the owner’s team to ensure that costs are managed and controlled effectively.

Sishen Mine is one of the largest open pit operations in the world. Venn & Milford administers various contractor mining services for the operations. These include contract mining, road maintenance, drilling and rehabilitation.

Kolomela Mine is situated in the Northern Cape Province and supplies some of the highest quality iron ore to both the local and global steel industry. Venn & Milford administers various contracts for the mining operation at Kolomela. Some of the contracts administered are amongst the largest contractor operations in South Africa.

Roy Hill

Roy Hill

Situated in Western Australia, Roy Hill mine wishes to expand their current load out capacity to their portside materials facility. The project is currently still in feasibility phase. V&M provided assistance to code the current bills of quantities which was prepared by the EPCM contractor.
